Eigersund Næring og Havn aims to ensure that the municipality has a competitive, sustainable and coordinated work towards industry. The company is the professional body for the municipality's harbour and is responsible for the management and development of the sea areas in the municipality.

Velferden - Sokndals Scene for Samtidskunst

Velferden Centre for Contemporary Art is an artist run space located in the 50´s community hall of an old mining town, in the rural area of Sokndal in southwestern Norway. At Velferden exhibitions, residencies, concerts are produced and curated and dialogues in relation to the local mining history, geology, tourism and contemporary art are arranged.

Magma UNESCO Global Geopark

Magma UNESCO Global Geopark is a geographic area with geology that has major international importance, recognized by UNESCO, and where sustainable development plays an important role. Magma Geopark is in a network of more than 140 UNESCO Global Geoparks in about 40 different countries on 5 continents and their representatives meet regularly. Although the background for a geopark is geology, really it’s all about the people – both locals and tourists, who are willing to explore, experience and share the vast possibilities of the natural and cultural attractions in the geopark!

Eigersund Municipality

Eigersund is a municipality with 15.000 inhabitants in the county of Rogaland on the South-West coast of Norway. For centuries it has provided good conditions for fishing and shipping which has helped to put Egersund on the map as one of the largest fishing ports in Norway

Dalane Folkemuseum / Jøssingfjord Vitenmuseum

Dalane Folkemuseum is a regional museum for Dalane, encompassing the municipalities Bjerkreim, Lund, Sokndal and Eigersund. The museum owns rich and extensive collections and has facilities spread throughout all of Dalane. In 2022, the museum will open the Jøssingfjord Science Museum, which will be established in Helleren in Jøssingfjord. The Science Museum wants to make visible the connection between the area’s nature, people and technology, as well as arouse interest in science among children and young people.
